Is Salvation Only Something That Happens After You Die?

The primary goal of the Gospel Coalition India, is to make the gospel central in every aspect of life and ministry. But what does it really mean to make the gospel central? And why is gospel centrality so important.

First of all, what is the gospel? One way to summarize the message of the gospel is like this. It’s the good news of what God has done through the life, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ for our Salvation. Now the important thing to understand is that salvation isn’t just something that happens after we die. God is working right now to bring transformation into our lives. And the way that he does this isn’t through something other than the gospel.

It’s through this very same gospel. The gospel is huge.

It isn’t just the way that we’re justified. It’s also the way that we’re sanctified day by day in every aspect of life. Another way to say this is that the gospel isn’t just the way that we enter into the christian life. It’s also the way that we grow in the christian life as the grace and love of God, as it is revealed through the gospel penetrates deeper and deeper into our hearts.

It transforms our lives from the inside out. It affects how we view God, how we view ourselves, how we relate to others, how we respond to the problems and challenges of life, how we view our purpose in life, how we do Church and everything else. And so we want to understand the gospel in all of its depth and fullness.

More and more and more and more, we want to live out the gospel in all of its implications for every aspect of life.

This is what it means to be a christian. This is what it means to grow as a christian. This is why gospel centrality is so important.
